Big Sky Horse Mineral supplies the animal with over 70 minerals in chelate form to detoxify, and will aid in parasite control. These three issues all have to be addressed if we want healthy horses. You get all this in one package. Whatever your horse needs, Big Sky gives you the foundation to build upon.

Big Sky Horse Mineral is a balanced amount of macro and micro minerals to complement each other and help the horse balance his system. Since Big Sky is a product in its natural form, a horse will free choice it to supply his mineral needs as it is intended. Big Sky gives the horse a bigger variety of minerals than we have found in any other product. Balanced by nature and in harmony with nature.

It is important what you feed a horse. It is also important how many of these nutrients the horse retains for himself. Most important, are these nutrients surrounded by the correct micro-nutrients so they can enter the blood stream in the correct balance so the horse can get the most benefit?

With the horse being somewhat of a desert animal, he prefers the mineral rich dry grasses growing around the mineral deposits in the western states. If the horse has a health issue he would even eat the mineral rich soil to correct his problem. This is what we are bringing to you for your horse. In all our years of horse nutrition I have still not found a better balanced, more complete mineral supplement system than what nature has given us.

The demand for micro-nutrients in any given horse is constantly changing. Force feeding micro-nutrients often overloads the liver and kidneys, which need to be at full capacity during high physical output. The serious horse owner should not guess at the requirements of the horse but should free choice.

I feel if instructions for feeding were available on the website when purchasing the product people would know how much to order. Including a measuring container with the product would also be great. Can't really rate the product yet because I have just started using it.

Horses Love the Big Sky Minerals!

Posted by Ann on 29th Nov 2017

I always fed Himalayan salt blocks to my horses but decided to try the Big Sky Minerals a couple years ago. I was boarding horses along with mine and the first time I put the minerals out the horses pushed each other away to get a chance at the bucket with the minerals. I started putting a cup every couple of days and each time I looked the dish was empty. Now I am down to my two horses and still put it out for them free range. An awesome way for them to get all the minerals they need!

    MADE ME A BELIEVER!!!

I was told about Big Sky by a Holistic Horse Practitioner in my area. I contacted her in late 2015 due to my horse having Lyme disease 3 times in less thank 2 years. I know the meds are hard on them and I was concerned that my horse 14 at the time may not fully recover with each bout of Lyme. She told me about Big Sky Minerals and how to feed it along with organic ACV. I was skeptical at best but willing to try pretty much anything to help my horse. That was December,2015, 3 months after his last round of antibiotics and a blood test showing still elevated numbers for the Lyme. I started him on Big Sky in January, 2016 and had his Lyme 'numbers' done again in March, 2016. I am still amazed they dropped significantly over 700-1k points! He has been Lyme free since and at almost 20 years old is rocking a fabulous shiny coat that everyone comments on. I have just started him on Big Sky Amino Plus, Hitrax and Minzyme for the winter to help arthritis and hopefully replace the cosequin. Better for my horse and my wallet. Stay tuned I will let you know how it goes. LOVE YOU ANDY MILLER and LAURA- You gave me my horse back. God bless!!

    All three horses like it

Posted by MoonValleyFarmer on 30th Oct 2017

They each eat it at their own rate, and that can change from week to week. I do have one who just eats it all immediately, so I have to ration his. I noticed they eat more when our hay quality is not as good, and less when the hay is really good. I think feeding a proper mineral mix free choice is really helping fill in any gaps in their nutrition. Between pasture grazing, hay, a good vitamin, natural salt, and Big Sky Minerals, I feel good about my horses' diet!

    minerals

My horses love their big sky minerals. (Apparently so do the cats. I find the bag open and they're the only ones with access). I feel good knowing they're getting everything they need in addition to their hay and pasture.

Just started using BS a couple months ago. I’ve been waiting to write the review until I used it a while. My white horse has dapples and I don’t think I’ve ever seen dapples on her before. She now has a winter coat and is loaded with dapples. She seemed healthy and entergentic. Even my other horse that has suspensoary problems is acting better and less lame. I’m very impressed thus far! I never realized how much the horses were missing minerals until now. I will never take my horses off of them. I feed free choice about a week or so Then too dress.

    she loves it!

Just started my 9 yo mare on this about 2 weeks ago. I can't tell you about the long term advantages of this yet but I can tell you she like it. I put one scoop in a salt block feeder every day (only if it's empty) and so far that's been everyday. I like that's it's considered free range and she only takes it if she wants it so I'm not force feeding it to her. I bought it mainly for hoof and overall health. I will update this review in a few months to see if any improvements. If there is an improvement in hoofs I will give 5 stars.
