Big Sky Horse Mineral supplies the animal with over 70 minerals in chelate form to detoxify, and will aid in parasite control. These three issues all have to be addressed if we want healthy horses. You get all this in one package. Whatever your horse needs, Big Sky gives you the foundation to build upon.

Big Sky Horse Mineral is a balanced amount of macro and micro minerals to complement each other and help the horse balance his system. Since Big Sky is a product in its natural form, a horse will free choice it to supply his mineral needs as it is intended. Big Sky gives the horse a bigger variety of minerals than we have found in any other product. Balanced by nature and in harmony with nature.

It is important what you feed a horse. It is also important how many of these nutrients the horse retains for himself. Most important, are these nutrients surrounded by the correct micro-nutrients so they can enter the blood stream in the correct balance so the horse can get the most benefit?

With the horse being somewhat of a desert animal, he prefers the mineral rich dry grasses growing around the mineral deposits in the western states. If the horse has a health issue he would even eat the mineral rich soil to correct his problem. This is what we are bringing to you for your horse. In all our years of horse nutrition I have still not found a better balanced, more complete mineral supplement system than what nature has given us.

The demand for micro-nutrients in any given horse is constantly changing. Force feeding micro-nutrients often overloads the liver and kidneys, which need to be at full capacity during high physical output. The serious horse owner should not guess at the requirements of the horse but should free choice.

    Cost effective Horse supplement

Posted by Dan American Horse on 6th Nov 2016

I have been using this product for about 4 years now. When I first started to use Big Sky Mineral my horses shedded out and got a completely new coat of soft shiny hair. This was in the middle of summer and their overall health has been good. One of my horses is 28 years old and this is the basic minerals she gets. She is a cow horse and still ridden though not very hard since she is a senior horse. But she can still do it all spin, turn back, slide stop. Though I only do this once in awhile after warming up when she looks like she is feeling good and dancing with energy.

    They like it

Unlike other supplements they leave in the bottom of their dish, they eat every bit of this. I'm not able to feed it free choice so I've been top-dressing their feed and have had no bits left behind. I've only been using this for a few days so I haven't sen major changes but I have seen some subtle differences.

My horse rescue horses love this mineral

Posted by Amy Curtis on 6th Oct 2016

I just bought the 25lb bag and received it two days ago. I have a horse rescue with all sorts of horses that have issues from founder, arthritis, hard gainers, mini ponies that are easy keepers and even a Percheron with awful hooves. My 26 head demolished this bag in two days. I have always had a red mineral block and a white salt block in my pasture so I never really thought I needed anything else. Needless to say I will be ordering more bags and hopefully they will get their needs met and will level off on the amount they consume. Thank you. Great product!!!

    Updated review

I mentioned one of my two horses found them yummy. . .but after having the minerals top dressed on her food, my mare became just as excited about them as my gelding. As the two horses share a dry lot and a two stall run-in shed, I've found that giving them the minerals free choice causes fighting. They love the minerals so much that they fight over them (even when given their own servings in the separate stalls!). Both horses are seeming generally peppier and happier, while there are a lot of factors playing into that as I recently moved them to a self care facility, I know that the minerals are a big contribution.

    Someone Found Them Yummy!

Posted by Susan (Pie & Sioux's Mom) on 22nd Sep 2016

I've been with my 12 yo OTTB gelding for over 8 years. I know him like I know myself, I rode him when he was a racehorse, and then adopted him when his career ended abruptly. I anticipated him liking this very much as well as needing it. We moved to a new farm where it is entirely self care. . .including the pastures which were mineral depleted. Also, he sweats a lot in the summer. He ate these minerals like they are candy. I'm on a tight budget so I hate giving it to him free choice, but for now, I can't argue with him. My WB/Paint mare was annoyed that there wasn't something more special in the buckets. I top dress her food with a little and leave it at that. She eats it on her food, but not free choice. That said, she seems to get a lot of nourishment from very little. I have some adorable photos of my OTTB eating his Blue Sky Minerals for the first time on my blog: http://wp.me/p4IjRl-Uo (scroll down after the video). I'll see if I can update my review after they've been on them a while. They used to have ok feet, but they were getting bad, I'm hoping having more dry time and these minerals will help. :)

    Love this product!

Using it on 3 horses, ages 5 to 30. It has improved the condition of the 30 year old tremendously. The younger horses maintain weight easily and have amazing coats.

    Horses love it!

Never thought they would eat grey powdered minerals by them selves but they gobble it up. They have good feet but I've still seen improvements . Been using Big Sky minerals for just over 1.5 years. Hate needing to order and pay shipping but they are doing too good on it not to.
