    This supplement is the only one that my horses get. They used to paw at the grown to get to the sand and lick it. Ingesting sand is not good for the horse but they were trying to get the minerals they needed. THEY DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE. I've also noticed a change in their hooves. They are cleaner, harder, less cracking and just healthier look. Thank you Hiland Supply Co.

    I think this is one of the best mineral mixes out there. I have had my horses on it for about a week and they love it. The only thing that could be improved is that an alternative fiber to wheat could be used. I understand this is crucial to keeping the consistency of the mix but wheat is just so gnarly for horses, especially my mustangs. There has to be some other product (rice perhaps?) that could replace the wheat. Otherwise this mix is on point. I love the probiotics and clays added.

    As a Veterinary Nutrition Consultant, I've searched years for the best mineral product and tested many. Chelated minerals are superior, however I do wish this product did not contain the filler "wheat middlings". Performance horses with gut issues don't benefit from filler ingredients. So far, my horse has devoured these minerals, whereas he has no interest in the several types of mineral blocks he's been offered. Last summer he ate dirt. I look forward to seeing improvement.
